Andrew and Nickey, along with their three children, are serving the Lord as missionaries in Jakarta, Indonesia. Composed of more than 13,000 islands, Indonesia is the most populous Muslim majority country. Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and the largest city in Southeast Asia. Andrew and Nickey were sent out to lead Harvest Mission International's first international church plant in Jakarta in June 2010. Andrew is serving as the lead pastor of HMCC of Jakarta, which is composed of two campuses. The first campus was planted in September 2009; the second campus was planted in August 2015. They are ministering to university students, single adults, and families at both campuses.
The church has also been active in ministry in other parts of Indonesia, working with national Christian workers and ministries to encourage existing churches as well as to bring the Gospel to unreached people groups. HMCC of Jakarta also partners with other HMCC churches to host mission projects on other islands of Indonesia.
Prayer Requests
- Physical Health - Due to the living conditions in Indonesia, it is easy to get sick with bacterial or viral infections. Please pray for physical health so that sickness does not hinder their work in Indonesia.
- Spiritual Health - Please pray that Andrew & Nickey would maintain a vibrant relationship with the Lord; build a healthy, Christ-centered marriage; and be very intentional about discipling their children.
- Children's Well-being - Living as "third-culture kids" can bring varied challenges, especially as they attend a national-plus school. Please pray that they will thrive in the midst of their unique circumstances and be thankful for the cross-cultural opportunities that God has blessed them with.
